Nothing compares to relaxing in the warmth of a train carriage while cinematic Alpine landscapes pass by — especially when crossing the spectacular Landwasser Viaduct. This curved, six-arch limestone railway bridge is one of Switzerland’s most impressive viaducts and a landmark of the Rhaetian Railway.
As part of the Davos–Filisur section of the Glacier Express line, the train glides majestically across the viaduct and over the rugged Landwasser Valley.
For a nostalgic experience, railway lovers can enjoy the historic “Crocodile” locomotive, travelling in vintage wooden carriages from Davos Platz through the romantic Zügen Gorge to Filisur. Alternatively, the Choo Choo train takes visitors to one of the best viewpoints near the viaduct — perfect for memorable photos.
Sky Walk Wiesen Viaduct – an experience at adventurous heights
On the Sky Walk at the Wiesen Viaduct, visitors enjoy a truly special view from the highest viaduct of the Rhaetian Railway. The pedestrian walkway runs parallel to the tracks and offers breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps, making it an ideal excursion for families.
From here, you can admire the Alpine scenery from a bird’s-eye perspective and experience the trains up close. In summer, IGZL offers free guided tours every Thursday, sharing fascinating insights into the historic Davos–Filisur railway line, built over 100 years ago through the wild Zügen Gorge and Landwasser Valley.
