The Landwasser Express takes you on an impressive journey from Filisur directly to the vantage point – the best viewing point on the Landwasser Viaduct, Graubünden’s 65-metre-high landmark. Along the way, you will learn fascinating facts about the structure, the Albula Line and the RhB World Heritage site. There is an information kiosk, seating and a barbecue spot on site.
From 14 May to 25 October 2026, you will have the opportunity to travel daily on a historical train composition from Davos to Filisur and back.
Enjoy rail travel of a different kind from Davos to Filisur. In not quite 40 minutes your trip will take you through the ruggedly romantic Zügen Gorge, over the famous Wiesen Viaduct to Filisur. This is also home to the Landwasser Viaduct. This viaduct marks the heart of the famous RhB Albula Line and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The nostalgic 1st and 2nd class carriages and the open scenic carriage are usually pulled by the legendary cult locomotive “Crocodile” Ge 6/6 I 415. Due to repair work, these will be cancelled until further notice. As a replacement, the Ge 4/4 II 611 (BoBo II) will run from 17 May 2025 - and the Ge 4/4 I (BoBo I) from June.
The viaduct shuttle is a convenient way of reaching the new stop at the Landwasser Viaduct, Schmitten GR Landwasser Viaduct. From there, it is just a few steps to the Hennings viewing platform, which offers spectacular views of Graubünden’s landmark and the UNESCO World Heritage site. A seat in the open carriage of the viaduct shuttle ensures a special experience. The train runs regularly between Filisur and Alvaneu and is perfect for combining with a walk or hike to the other attractions of the Landwasser World.
