This is one of the most spectacular train journeys in the world. Expect sheer, unbridled joy as you weave your way past the glistening glaciers of the Bernina Range through swaying palm trees and shimmering Italian lakes far below.

Famed as the highest rail journey in Europe, and arguably the most beautiful, the Bernina Express connects the Swiss and Italian Alps. Railfans can cross suspension bridges over bold gorges, gasp at the flawless views of icy-blue Poschiavo Lake and be awed by the wonder of the Bernina Range and the cascading meltwater of the Piz Palu Glacier.

Curated with incredible scenery that only dreams are made of, it's not hard to see why part of the Bernina Express route was awarded UNESCO World Heritage Status on the lines between Thusis-Valposchiavo-Tirano. Thanks to the Bernina Express' modern panoramic cars, guests can enjoy unrestricted views of the unspoiled Alpine vistas.
