Walking tour Zurich - Zurich in all its aspects: stroll through the business & shopping center (famous Bahnhofstrasse) and the old town. Wander around at Neumarkt, outside the city wall, and Spielgasse where history was written. The sanctuary provides an educational experience for families and nature enthusiasts, combining conservation efforts with wildlife observation.

Bear Sanctuary Experience Trail - Welcome to the beary exciting Tschuggen Trail! Our stars along the path are impossible to miss – after all, they belong to the Great Bear family. Set off on your journey and discover all six Great Bears (five in winter), learn where they live and how big they can grow. The trail leads from Arosa Bear Sanctuary to the Tschuggen Hut, past the mountain chapel (Bergkirchli), and on to the Kulm Meadow. Once you’ve found and measured all the bears, you’ll find out which one is the biggest of them all.

 

Day 4

Pontresina - is located in the highest-altitude valley that branches off from the Upper Engadine. It is a sunny place, protected from the winds, that lies on a slope opening towards the southwest. Pontresina continues to be a typical Engadine village, stretching along the valley's longitudinal axis. It is embedded in dense woods of larch and stone pine trees. Pontresina ascends from 1,777m to 1,860m / 8,830 ft to 6,102ft above sea level. While Pontresina is a trendy and open-minded place, it continues to maintain its tradition and cultural roots. There is a choice of beautiful old Engadine houses, exciting pubs and restaurants, and interesting cultural events.

 

Day 5

Today, around 100 km of hiking trails and nature trails in the easternmost corner of Switzerland invite young and old to witness the wilderness.

Bernina Express train - the most beautiful experience of the Alps: From the high towering glaciers of the mountains down to the swaying palms of Italy, the highest mountain railway in the Alps provides a link between northern and southern Europe. It does so in the most wonderful way imaginable, on a railway line that coexists in perfect harmony with its glorious mountain setting. The train makes short work of the 55 tunnels, 196 bridges and slopes of up to 70 millimeters per meter of incline that are found along its route. The physical high point of the RhB is Ospizio Bernina, at 2,253 meters above sea level.

Ascona - Ascona is Switzerland's lowest lying town. It is located at 196m / 555ft above sea level on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore. Ascona is famous for its mild climate, its Old Town and a lake promenade which is dotted with street cafés and boasts a Latin ambience.

 

Day 7

Tour Program:
Day 1: Arrival at Milan Airport. Rail transfer to Tirano and further on the Bernina Express route to Celerina in the Upper Engadin (4-5h). Or private transfer to Tirano where you board the train to Celerina. Overnight in Celerina.

Day 2: Self-guided excursion to Mt. Diavolezza for stunning views of the surrounding mountain scenery and the Morteratsch Glacier beneath your feet. Free time at leisure in the afternoon, possible visit to St. Moritz or to an artisan Alpine cheese dairy. Overnight in Celerina.

Day 3: Scenic ride by Bernina Express train on the UNESCO World Heritage Route Albula-Bernina to Chur (2h). Transfer by postal bus to Laax (45min). Free time at leisure to explore. Overnight in Flims-Laax.

Day 4: Guided tour of the Rhine River Gorge, the Swiss Grand Canyon, one of the most spectacular landscapes in Graubünden (during summer season with the small panorama open-deck postal bus). Visit to the breathtaking Lake Cauma with its clean, turquoise waters. Overnight in Flims-Laax.

Day 5: Transfer by postal bus to the historic Alpine city of Chur (45min). Self-guided excursion to Churwalden for a descent on the Pradaschier toboggan, the longest summer toboggan in Switzerland, combined with excursion to Lenzerheide. Option for mountain biking in the bike kingdom Arosa-Lenzerheide or day trip to the Arosa Bear Sanctuary, a unique animal conservation project located at 2,000 mts. above sea level in a stunning mountain setting. Overnight in Chur.

Day 6: Departure for Zurich or Eastern Switzerland (Appenzell) with possible stop at the Landquart Fashion Outlet.
